With the new year just turned in, we at Sypher get the ball rolling with our new project starting today, called: 4SYPHER! Our main goal with this project is to give teams and individual players a chance to reach the next level in eSports that can seem so difficult to achieve.

While for every new team having high ambitions all starts with finding a good name, training a lot and in some cases they work out a small “organisation” themself by finding a sponsor for servers and other necessities.
The ultimate goal for these teams and players is to get picked up by a prestigious organisation, so that they can be taken serious by the professional eSports world and achieve things they set out to do from the start.
As an example of, our WC3 Player kopitz was rather unknown before he approached us. Soon after joining us we made him aware of this qualifier belgium held for WC3 where the winners (and he qualified) would get the chance to represent their nation on the iESF Challenge in Korea. Besides the great eSports experience he got there, he also gained the respect from the community which gave him a boost that noone could of imagined! He even featured in an hour long national radio interview in Belgium and other local Media channels during his stay in Korea!
That’s what sypher wants to offer to everyone which we feel deserves it. Players who have a professional attitude can get far, they just need a little push! Within 4SYPHER (4SR) we want to be that force behind them….
FAP -> 4SR: Introduction
Kicking off as our first 4SYPHER team is the finnish COD4 team: FAP (known as f*kin angry policemen).
A team that exists of good friends that have been playing together now for quite some time. One of the key members making this possible is FEKUJ. He has been one of Sypher’s true fans for the past year, which has resulted in him becoming close friends with many people in the organisation. There’s no other team around that better fits the purpose of the new 4SYPHER project .
Antti “ruohiz” Ruohomäki
Valtteri “Fekuj” Immonen
Teemu “kez” Kettunen
Olli “kusti” Oikari
Joni “sarinerAr” Laakso
A word from the whole FAP team:
After months of on/off gaming and hiding behind fake names we, FAP, have finally decided to reveal ourselves to the public supported by team Sypher.
Like any Finnish team, there’s a time when the Finnish military service takes away some of your teammates, and so happened to us, taking away two key players and leaving the line-up not complete.
So after nearly 3 months of searching for that special one to fill in the missing link in our line-up, we found an old friend of ours known for his dominating aim in DoD:Source, Antti “ruohiz” Ruohomäki, who fits in perfectly with our funky posse that will be showing up at the CIC7 as prepared as possible and hoping to do well.
We’re all glad to bring this bunch of five together not only as teammates but friends as well, and as the Spice Girls used to say friendship never ends (we just wanna zigazig ah).
We’re also happy to announce Sypher taking us under their wing and becoming our official supporter, thank you and we hope to do well on the battlefield.
Some words of the sypher management
For 2010 we have a lot planned and this is just a warm-up of several other projects. People will get to see a whole new sypher. With a new website release scheduled for this spring, a full rebrand is prepared welcoming new partners, game divisions and side-projects. We want to celebrate our 10th anniversary with style and everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy from this.
By welcoming the finnish COD team of FAP we feel like having some new family here and that’s something we luckily always had with our players. 4SYPHER.COD ’s first public appearance will be the Crossfire LAN held in March. We wish FAP the best of luck and we’ll be helping them out as much as we can!

In the last post we announced the attendance of the team to i36. Expecations were set high for our team since they had to proof themselves towards the whole COD Community. Many were doubting on our performances and some even were offending with calling some of our players cheaters! (the worst thing that can happen in your game-carreer). Well what can we say now… They were WRONG! And we proved so that we had the needed expierence to perform offline. The boys did a very good job at i36 ending up a shared 5th/6th place with FNATIC.MSI.
But then unfortunately the problems started to take place and line-up activity (or should I see stability) resulted in being one of the first problems the team had to face. Despite the good results in our eyes at their very first lan as this team the results could have been better according to some and changes had to be made. When we look back now, that idea better never occured because since then things haven’t been the same. In several attempts to bring back the old line-up together this just couldn’t work.
From then until now, the only moments where we could see the team playing together were their ESL.UK EPS matches and so they will also finish the current season with two more games to be played which should secure a safe spot for a next season. Where it’s still unknown if a team will be representing Team Sypher by then! But we have our ideas already and soon more about that!
Here a little statement from ex-sypher member NEOX:
Since i36, after reaching 5/6th place, the team hasn’t felt the same. We have spent much time trying to get the best out of the team, and it’s a shame that this has become of no use. After Some departures including myself, and new people joining, the stability the team needed wasn’t able to be reached.
Two unstable months and many different players later, the team has finally decided to depart and go their separate ways. I myself have always believed in the team, thinking that we can achieve great things as long as we get a stable lineup; others just didn’t have the motivation that I had for Team Sypher.
We achieved good results in many competitions, and it’s a great shame that it has come down to this. The organization hasn’t done anything except help us all throughout the course of our ups and downs.
They’ve been great, and I’d personally like to thank Fwiet and Deathman for being extremely patient with us.
They have taken a huge risk in getting us in as their cod4 team, and I hope the very best for them. Additionally, their great guys and I’d love to meet them sometime, as we didn’t have the opportunity to meet up after all. All the best from the ex CoD4 Team Sypher.

The latest announcement featured the addition of our new Belgian Counter-Strike 1.6 Team. So far everything goes well (there has been a little break because of some health problems of a member but they’re back alive and kicking!) There’s not a lot of online action for them at this moment so the focus is currently on the LAN’s! Words are set to actions and this weekend they’ll be featuring together with the Call of Duty team @ LAN.
Sypher.COD4 is attending Multiplay i36 in Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, UK. (more info: Here )
Sypher.CS is attending the 10th edition of the 3DLAN in Charleroi, Belgium (more info: Here )
SR.COD at i36
Regarding i36, a though competition is waiting us. Some of Europe’s finest teams will be at the event trying to fight for the title. Last edition our previous line-up ended with a nice fourth place but the competition wasn’t as strong as it will be this weekend. The expactations aren’t set to high since it’s the first LAN this team will be attending together but we hope to set some nice results confirming the latest impressive online results we made. Good luck guys!
More information regarding the seedings, group stages and play-offs’s can be found on the coverage of TEK9: i36 Coverage
And of course as you can see we’ve added our twitter to this page so updates will be done there as well.

First lan for our team after their good performance at Frag-O-Matic recently, this weekend they’ll be attending the best lan there is in the Walloon side of Belgium.
This edition things will be different though and some Flemish players have made their mode to the event to set their mark. We’ll see the new line-up of TEK9 in action and as well a mixteam with some of the most respected players in the Belgium CS scene.
Unfortunately Fre3 had to drop out for this LAN due to work commitments and his brother Leglan will be replacing him for this lan. Despite attending with a last second announced mixer the team attending is still a strong team and we’re sure they can make some good moves.
Updates will be posted on our twitter during the weekend. Good luck as well!
