Sypher.CS swaps two for 2010

Following the news on the refreshed CS:S roster few weeks ago, they’re now being followed by the CS 1.6 team.

At the end of a year it’s always time to review everything and sometimes it can’t continue with the same people, unfortunately.

When Sypher.CS joined us 10 months ago they just took a second place on Frag-O-Matic. Further in the year they participated in all events which could give Sypher exposure here on the local market. From the Intel Friday Night Games this summer (See the galleries) until the EPS Finals, lans, a great online season in EPS Benelux S III and to finish the year: The SteelSeries & Saturn Shoot-out

Nevertheless it’s a fact that results weren’t always the best and so we present the team for 2010 with one old member coming back and 2 new additions.

  • be Riccardo ‘hutCh‘ Natalizio
  • be Massimo ‘iDENT‘ Cicerale
  • beGregoire ‘yokO‘ Debay
  • beAntoine ‘AntoinC‘ Cassanelli
  • beDiego ‘Hrdz‘ Boels

In this roster we see hutCh and yokO remaining and iDENT coming back as expected. He couldn’t participate in the EPS Season and had Apologize replacing him for this. So who’s leaving us as long standing members are first of all our young player NESK and old veteran Fre3.

Here some words from team captain Riccardo Natalizio, hutCh

uk After the EPS finals it was obvious something had to change. As NESK decided he would quit the team (which we heard of just before the finals), one spot came free anyway. After that everything went quite fast when we got in contact with Diego “Hrdz” Boels and Antoine “ANTOINC” Cassanelli, two players I’ve been observing for a while and who impressed me in the past weeks. Now at a certain moment it was time for me to decide how Sypher.CS would continue in the next months and that decision was quite hard to take, also because not everyone managed to agree with it. Nevertheless I would like to say good luck to those who have to leave us, and welcome to the freshman’s. Once more they managed to confirm that what I thought (and saw) of them weren’t some one-time actions.

Here some words of Team Manager Geoffrey De Bie, fwiEt

It was quite hard for me to agree with hutCh’s decision since we really had some great moments this year with this line-up. When I think back to the IFNG’s and the after-drinks in the weirdest local pubs… those were just special :) . But we discussed and considered all options and I managed to agree with the changes. The motivation of some players disappeared and some have their job which can take a lot of team-practice time.

We tried to end the year well with this team as we hoped the EPS finals in Utrecht, Netherlands could spice things up again. But again we had a lack of preparation and some conflicts the day night before the event, it was hard to put down a good result when everyone knows the team stops with the current line-up only few hours later. But I think we can still look back positive. Let’s hope this line-up can find it’s routine and focus on being nr1 in the Benelux.

SR.CS ends 2nd in online EPS, LAN Finals next

News of Sunday 15/11/09 on esl.eu/benelux

The EPS Benelux online season is over. It was short but it was exiting. Only 4 teams go to the finales in order to decide who is the best in the Benelux. These teams will play at the HME event in Utrecht on a big stage!. Counter-Strike 1.6 finales is scheduled on Saterday 28 November. All day long! The offline finales will be a Single elimination in an BO3 bracket.

So who are the top4 teams?

  1. fture
  2. Team Sypher
  3. LowLandLions
  4. Shadows.QPAD

Yes Yes Yes! We made it after all! :)

Despite all qualification problems (Forfait loss for 1 missing demo in the EPS Qual Playoffs, after a lame request from “The Untouchables”) we managed to get our spot due to Rodcad Gaming winning the Dreamhack Qualifier pack. Their victory made 1 empty spot in the EPS which had to be battled for in a game between Confronto and Sypher. (We won this one pretty easy).

After many stress to participate in the EPS, (in the end it would be a big loss for the competition if we would miss in teams list.) we had to start the season on Sunday November 1st.  Well our first game was a wildcard due to that day being an official free day here. (But in Netherlands they don’t know it so yeah…)

Sypher.CS @ Benelux ESL Pro Series?

Many matches have been played to be where we now stand. Sypher.cs first had to place in a top5 in the Amateur Series since to be placed for the Final Playoffs cup. After a good start yesterday we’re still in. We’ve had some great matches with many spectators and at some moments the Gamelux Live Radio Broadcast.

Tonight is the true moment on whether we’ll have our place along 5 other teams, or not. The Untouchables will be the opponent of Sypher on de_inferno! 1 last match to get the spot!
