BELGIUM.CSS, encore une fois!

The upcoming European Nations Championship is one of the ESL’s biggest tournaments. Year after year the Benelux countries do their best to win that ticket to the ENC finals. Only one team managed to do so last year and that was the Dutch WC3 team taking silver and the BE CSS team just missing the playoffs after the Main round. Have a look at the Hall of Fame for more ENC history here.

With ASUS giving away 120,000 euro’s for the event, hopefully we can get some of our teams bringing back medals in this ENC 2010!

In this post we present you the  Belgian team. After hese guys had to play a qualifier to keep their spot as Belgian ESL National CSS Team, they’re now ready to be announced.

Due to the big rivalry in Belgium between French & Dutch communities, both CS & CS:S played against eachother to represent the ENC. In the end it’s a nice situation as CS has a Flemish; and CSS a walloon representation. The Line-up will be featuring several team  Sypher! players. with the superb lead of the the team-captain of  VeryGames. To continue they bring in 3 other players including two flemish players to show sportsmanship!

One person took up the role of team-captain and here is the presentation

Team Belgium CS:Source 2010:

Julien “deStrO” Pardons (manager)
Kévin “Ex6TenZ” Droolans (capitaine)
Stéphane “FuZ” Renquet
Matthias “dahood” Vercruysse
Sébastien “janssen” Janssen
AdiL “ScreaM” Benrlitom
Ilja “iD” Dejonghe
Natan “Boon” Vanden Borre
Philippe “bil” Macé
Jérôme “ScanNTraxX” Golamaully

Player presentation

by Ex6TenZ, boon & janssen

FuZ: His contribution to the team is that with his very large arms he can carry many bottles of water, these will definately be of use for the lan finals.

dahood: Totally unknown player, some youth-friend of some old girlfriend of me. When I met him he seemed to be nice and pretty OK on cash, his role will be to sponsor fuz with the water bottles

Scream: Slovakia has ‘xGuardianko’, The Netherlands have ‘brains’, Denmark have ‘wantz’. We have ScreaM! LESS LAUGHING NOW HUH?

boon & bil: you said who? boule & bil maybe but Boon & Bil, unknown at the battleground, never heard of, must be some joke.

Ex6tenz: Fan of Sangoku & Johny Halliday, he found the perfect mix: the sexy haircut and a superb fashion style. He’s good to shine in the spotlights for us.

janssen: jaja? Ah but he won’t be playing, he’s just our bodyguard

scantraxx: he’ll be providing us illicit substances.

iD: the only normal guy in the line-up, … just to bad he doesn’t speaks french.

BE CS:Source history

Last year the team knew it’s best achievement in years.
Starting in QR3 against Bosnia and Herzegovina CSS and then winning Hungary in QR4 they did attend the Main Round. There we saw some unexpected results such as twice 14-16 against the ENC 2009 winner: Germany! This year can only be better with the great preparation the team will have. Besides an offline bootcamp their personal sponsor Redline-hosting is offering them, they hope to get a shot on one of the offline events being held by ASUS.

With 3 victories and only 1 loss nothing is over while the league keeps going till March.

CSS@ ESEA Week4 + ESL EAS game tonight

*update* SR managed to win against the Polish EWC with 16-11. Despite many connection problems due to the Belgian provider Belgacom having problems lately we managed to pull a secure result.

*update2* Our EAS opponent claimed to award us a forfeit win as his team couldn’t be present at the agreed matchdate. Nevertheless we didn’t receive any points for the game.
———–
After losing quite unexpected to the Danish guys of “Gamingserver” yesterday evening, tonight is an opportunity to take back those lost points by beating the Polish team “Elite Warez Couriers”.

A game that shouldn’t be a big challenge but with the exams period and a rather calm pracc schedule for SYPHER.CSS everything is possible.

Next up at 22:00 we have a Belgian challenge against “nextlevel”. An average Belgian team with most definately no chance to cause us an upset. If we look at the current Winning streak in the ESL EAS Benelux we have sypher on the 2nd spot after being nr1 for one week. Let’s take those 2 points to take back our place on nr1.

CSS with a loaded week, tonight ESEA vs GAMINGSERVER(DK)

*update* GAMINGSERVER had a great match and we missed some awareness in this game, a lack of training with the exams going on for our guys ain’t a good thing when officials need to be played. Final score 10-16! Good game GAMINGSERVER

Following the start of the new ESEA Season a while ago, SYPHER.CSS had a good start in the Season 5 Open Division being played from Dec 1, 2009 – Mar 6, 2010. Tonight we have team GAMINGSERVER from Denmark on the Menu!

After two victories on a row, tonight it’s time for a third game against “Team GAMINGSERVER“. This game has been rescheduled from the season start until now due to holidays and ESEA servers not being available when both teams agreed to play.

We’re currently ranked 4th with one game in our favor, winning tonight should give us our spot back in the top3 and that’s the goal we’ve set for this ESEA Open Season so hopefully we can go where we  belong next season: The Invite league!

Here an overview of the TOP10 and tonight’s game against GAMINGSERVER. Hopefully we can pull up a good job since 2 of our members are having university exams and weekly trainings are currently been cancelled.

SR.CSS fires up ESEA and EAS.BLX

A while ago we announced the motivated return of the CSS line-up. After a period of low activity, problems with the line-up consistency etc., they’ve returned asking a second chance and we agreed on that. In the end we always had a good faith in what this team could perform and we still rely on these thoughts.

Now to assure nothing could go wrong again we’ve made some agreements on having to show us this activity and motivation to perform again. Therefore the team registered for the esportsea.eu with the goal to attend the Invite season where all Europe’s finest CSS teams participate in, and since they lost their EPS License they’re now also back at the bottom of the ladder: EAS.

Let’s have a small recap on the last 3 weeks and the first matches in both competitions.

But first a general statement from SR.CSS player bil:

uk After we solved our line-up problems we’ve slowly started to take up our training schedule again. At this moment we keep it to 3 evenings a week. Now, starting over again from the beginning (because it feels for us as something new) wasn’t always so successful, some delays happen etc, but with time and patience everything is starting to go better and better. At every practice game or official we discuss before and the most important AFTER the game on all aspects of the match. Something which often went wrong before.

Concerning the weeks to come things will be very calm. Some leave for winter holidays, and others are preparing their high-school exams.

As it seems now everything should be back in order by the beginning of February, by that time we’ll be rested in our minds and be able to prepare at the highest level for upcoming events.

ESEA

be Sypher.CSS 16 vs 14 AMDERSuk

A game which started of well with a leading score of 12-3 but with some pc problems Dahood had it turned out in a close match. After getting to a 15-15 we had an overtime to play and that one turned out in our favor with a 6-2 deciding score.

To have full statistics of this game you can check out the match page: HERE

To go back to the local competition here an overview of 2 ESL Benelux Amateur Series games which the team plays every sunday.

Last Sunday they’ve did a remarkable score against the current number 1 on this ladder with a rather confident score. IT seems by now that the competition in these EAS ain’t to high which should make it only easier to grab many points and keep this first spot we’ll be taking next Sunday until the new EPS Season (which ain’t announced so far).

EAS.BLX

be Sypher.CSS 16 vs 3 Freshconnections nl

Previous to this game we had the EAS kick-off match which surprisingly enough didn’t went as good as planned. We won yes we did, but not to really a game to write in the golden book.
