June 27. A day we’ll add to our list of achievements. A day where we showed the Benelux competitive scene that we’re still around. SYPHER.CS, our line-up of all-stars Belgian Walloon players travelled to Enschede, Netherlands with only one motto: Veni, vidi, vici
AND THEY DID! – Small recap!

We, Team Sypher are the new Champions of the Benelux after winning the BO3 Grand Final over
KaoS Gaming with only two deciding maps to our favour. With a score of 16-06 on de_dust2 and 16-09 on nuke we decided how the day would end pretty fast.
Seen as the outsider of the event by the whole Benelux community, KaoS and synergy left of to be the favourites to meet in the final. Unfortunately for them they were no big challenge for our CS Team having a superb team-play as their winning factor.
A final we managed to qualify ourselves to with confidence after winning our first BO3 game against
Synergy Clan and putting some heat on the event with a double score of 16-10. That’s also the game we had to win as the final wouldn’t be seen as such a difficult match after we know our chances against KaoS.
In overall, a great event, a great venue, a well organized tournament, nice weather…. That’s what I managed to hear from some so far. A full review will be online soon when the first pictures and video footage are up to publish.
Good game to all finalists and see you in October for EPS 5.

As I’m currently writing this article, the five Counter-Strike 1.6 players plus Team Sypher owner Damien Rapoye are driving the sypher van towards Enschede, Netherlands.

The Team Sypher van
Leaving this morning around 05:00AM at the HQ in Kortrijk, first ardd got picked up followed by a meeting point in Liège where they’d hit off together for another 4hours on the road.
Why? Because today is the end of the mid-season and this goes together with the Benelux ESL Pro Series Finals – Season 04.
When? Starting at 11AM our first game against Synergy in the semi-final.

It’s on a 16-13 victory in the ultimate EPS match of the Season, that the last EPS Finals participant got decided.
No other then us, Team Sypher managed to qualify ourselves for the ESL Benelux CS 1.6 EPS Finals next weekend in Enschede, Netherlands!
And yes we’ve had 3 difficult weeks to get so far. With a lot of pressure on the team to play 6 all even-important matches on a 3 week notice, they’ve had their share of losses, draws, and victories. And it’s the last one we missed a little bit this season.
Let’s head for a small recap on sypher.CS their way to the finals.
Latest matches
A detailed coverage item will be released few days before the EPS finals. Stay tuned for some team interviews and important updates regarding the CS team.

Tonight our CS 1.6 team enters the seventh Playday of the ESL Pro Series Benelux Season 4 with a very important match.
A victory against “Synergy Clan” tonight could guarantee our attendance at the EPS Finals end of June in Enschede, Netherlands. Nevertheless depending on other results tonight and on the last rescheduled matches tomorrow evening, everything can change for the nr2, 3 and 4 on the ranking board which has us on the 6th place with 5 points but 2 remaining matches. Let’s not forget that we drawed both number 1 and 2, this really put a large influence on the final ranking.
In a normal situation, if we win our game tonight and the one vs. esportshop tomorrow we could end up on a second place just as the previous season and with KaoS currently leading this could be a good thing to not directly face the strongest team at the LAN event.

Check out the game live at 22:00 on the following HLTV IP: hltv4.verygames.net:27099

Tonight our team of Mourtatches face EPS Season 3 online season winner and also second place holder of TheParty8 – KaoS. It’s an important game for our guys as the winner could be guaranteed of his spot for the EPS finals.
It’s this team that kicked us out of the tournament at our latest LAN event on de_train. This means it’s payback time for our guys and they are totally prepared to do so! KaoS is currently leading on the ranking board with 3 victories and they have defeated the other 2 walloon participants. It’s up to the sypher CS 1.6 team to make sure they don’t get a hat-trick tonight!

Match Statements – Team Sypher
KaoS, a strong opponent! They had two matches yesterday and won both, making them to lead the ranking. We know they are the toughest one and we realise it will be difficult.
Nevertheless de_inferno is one of our better maps and we’re happy to see something else then de_train and tuscan in this EPS… we already missed dd2
What to expect, we don’t know. The last time we met was at TheParty where we played eachother (we won’t forget), and in the end it was KaoS kicking us out of the tournament in crazy circumstances. Now it’s online and we’ll be awake so let’s pwn this and put ourselves on top3 ranking.
Match Statements – KaoS
After our victory up against the walonian teams netGen and esportshop it’s time to face the third walonian team in this season: Sypher.
We have played them quite a few times and know what we are in for, according to their pre-match statement they are going “To pwn”, but I think if there is anybody capable of stopping them it’s us.(IF we get a good night sleep). Nah just kidding around guys, it is going to be an exciting match, don’t miss it.
Good luck Sypher and have fun to everybody watching
Kind regards
Eric ’slaYn’ Peeters

As announced two weeks ago, our Walloon CS team would be starting their games soon in the ESL Pro Series Season 4 @ ESL Benelux. At this date we’ve seen two matches played and yet 4 others to come. It’s time for a little review as we’re only 3 playdays away from the end of this short season.
On the first page you can find a review of our played matches vs netGen and PwP.
On page 2 you can find a preview of the two upcoming games vs Shadows and KaoS.
New this week is that XLBET and ESL Benelux started a partnership to bet on the EPS games. Time for some online action highlights. With the past LAN’s already dating back to two months, our two 5v5 teams keep fragging on their weekly trainings and so preparing themselves for a next event. To entertain themselves and the community we know ESL as being the platform for online professional competition with the EPS as the highest league in each country.
In this coverage we feature the highlights of both our squads in the EPS. The CS 1.6 team participates in the Benelux but the CS:Source team made some changes and will from these days continue to play with at least 2 French players in order to be accepted in the French ESL Section. With dahood having a double nationality they are still able to hold on with 3 former line-up members (janssen, dahood, bil).
The Benelux EPS Season just started this weekend and sypher will only be playing their first two games Monday the 24th.
The French EPS Season is already coming to it’s end and yes we managed to have our name in the current Season as our guys joined up with one of their friends in need of substitutes to finish the season, and most certainly sypher present with their new line-up after the summer. With a current mid-placed rank we’re sure of our presence in the EPS Season 9 of CSS.
Stay tuned for more highlights on upcoming matches. SYPHER.CSS mix facing hf.Mother soon and our CS boys playing netGen and PWP next monday!
