Fekuj taking a break, sypher removes 4SYPHER.COD

Back in January we announced the start of a new concept called 4SYPHER. This new feature would give upcoming teams the opportunity to have an organisation helping them out with any problems they’d have,  and supporting them with basic support so they can move on to the next step in competitive gaming in their local scene and Europe.

The team being the “beta-tester” in this were the Finnish COD guys of “FAP”. Unfortunately a while ago their team-captain Valtteri Immonen, Fekuj told us that he would be lowering his online activity and putting more time in studies and social activities.

By this we remove the COD team as Fekuj was our only close connection with the line-up and it’s only with him that we could keep doing this.

Valtteri Immonen, Fekuj

After CIC7 we felt like finding a new fifth, which we eventually did. However during the last few weeks i’ve lost my motivation towards the game almost completely and i decided not to continue. The team decided not to look for a new fifth again so the only conclusion for this was to split up. I’d really like to thank kez for being the worst beatboxer ever, ruohiz just because of his BEARD, sarine (don’t let this guy in train after not sleeping at all) and kusti for just being part of the most awesome team i’ve been in so far. As far as i know sarjne, kusti and ruohiz will have at least some kind of break from gaming, kez will continue with other team. I personally will still continue as finland’s rep at Vita Nova + i’m attending Solid Mojo with a mixteam.

Some words from our side.

We’ve always had a strong bond with Fekuj and so we worked out this 4SYPHER to give him what he always wanted, being a part of sypher but this time as a player. Of course it’s something we wanted as well as we’ve always knew Valtteri being a great guy and helping us out with so many things.

Unfortunately, a part of the project will now stop and we believe it’s the best for both. Besides them splitting up I’m sure there were also some flaws from our side and we won’t deny that. The problem where we see it, is that in the last year we’ve made this change in our strategy by positioning ourselves more and more on the Franco-Belgian market (when it comes to players and partners). Due to this we couldn’t offer them the correct support and the team-management wasn’t the same for them as others experience it.

Nevertheless that, we had a great time and some amusing moments on our private IRC channel!! :) . We’d like to say thanks for representing us at CiC and the online-matches they played by the tag of 4SYPHER. We’ll see this split as the best for both and we wish all players good luck in what they do next. Cheers guys!

To end this story here an overview of those who created 4SYPHER and deserve all fame!

New concept ‘4SR’ launched, FAP break the seal

With the new year just turned in, we at Sypher get the ball rolling with our new project starting today, called: 4SYPHER!  Our main goal with this project is to give teams and individual players a chance to reach the next level in eSports that can seem so difficult to achieve.

While for every new team having high ambitions all starts with finding a good name, training a lot and in some cases they work out a small “organisation” themself by finding a sponsor for servers and other necessities.

The ultimate goal for these teams and players is to get picked up by a prestigious organisation, so that they can be taken serious by the professional eSports world and achieve things they set out to do from the start.

As an example of, our WC3 Player kopitz was rather unknown before he approached us. Soon after joining us we made him aware of this qualifier belgium held for WC3 where the winners (and he qualified) would get the chance to represent their nation on the iESF Challenge in Korea. Besides the great eSports experience he got there, he also gained the respect from the community which gave him a boost that noone could of imagined!  He even featured in an hour long  national radio interview in Belgium and other local Media channels during his stay in Korea!

That’s what sypher wants to offer to everyone which we feel deserves it.  Players who have a professional attitude can get far, they just need a little push!  Within 4SYPHER (4SR) we want to be that force behind them….

FAP -> 4SR: Introduction

Kicking off as our  first 4SYPHER team is the finnish COD4 team: FAP (known as f*kin angry policemen).
A team that exists of  good friends that have been playing together now for quite some time.  One of the key members making this possible is FEKUJ.  He has been one of Sypher’s true fans for the past year, which has resulted in him becoming close friends with many people in the organisation.  There’s no other team around that better fits the purpose of the new 4SYPHER project .

Antti “ruohiz” Ruohomäki
Valtteri “Fekuj” Immonen
Teemu “kez” Kettunen
Olli “kusti” Oikari
Joni “sarinerAr” Laakso

A word from the whole FAP team:

After months of on/off gaming and hiding behind fake names we, FAP, have finally decided to reveal ourselves to the public supported by team Sypher.

Like any Finnish team, there’s a time when the Finnish military service takes away some of your teammates, and so happened to us, taking away two key players and leaving the line-up not complete.
So after nearly 3 months of searching for that special one to fill in the missing link in our line-up, we found an old friend of ours known for his dominating aim in DoD:Source, Antti “ruohiz” Ruohomäki, who fits in perfectly with our funky posse that will be showing up at the CIC7 as prepared as possible and hoping to do well.

We’re all glad to bring this bunch of five together not only as teammates but friends as well, and as the Spice Girls used to say friendship never ends (we just wanna zigazig ah).

We’re also happy to announce Sypher taking us under their wing and becoming our official supporter, thank you and we hope to do well on the battlefield.

Some words of the sypher management

For 2010 we have a lot planned and this is just a warm-up of several other projects. People will get to see a whole new sypher. With a new website release scheduled for this spring, a full rebrand is prepared welcoming new partners, game divisions and side-projects. We want to celebrate our 10th anniversary with style and everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy from this.

By welcoming the finnish COD team of FAP we feel like having some new family here and that’s something we luckily always had with our players. 4SYPHER.COD ’s first public appearance will be the Crossfire LAN held in March. We wish FAP the best of luck and we’ll be helping them out as much as we can!
